From Kory:I am really honored to have been asked to create art for Gov't Mule and this tour. Like most of you, I've listened to Dark Side of the Moon a bunch of times over the years, but it wasn't until this poster gig that I really dove into the album. I probably listened to it 50 times while working on this and it got better each time. Truly a timeless album. (Note: Although Mule’s show honors Pink Floyd and not just DSOTM, that’s the album I focused on).
When I started working on this poster, I was in a pretty low and lonely mental place. As I am sure other artists will attest, this type of work can get pretty lonely sometimes. Experiences, relationships and people can slip away pretty quickly from your life, while you scribble lines behind closed doors. It's a job where you spend a ton of time inside of your own head, while a ton of time can pass by around you.I've been fortunate enough to have some amazing experiences in life, and I am very grateful to make art everyday for a living. All of which is never lost on me, but it's important to remember to savor every moment of time we get.
